Many thousands of people have been caught by the "xupiter hijacker" and want to uninstall xupiter ASAP! Before I show you how to do this, you may want to know how xupiter got onto your PC in the first place... Well this piece of software that installs itself onto your computer is the result of a father and son team known as the "Yomtobian's". They are responsible for a huge amount of misery on the Internet that they call "legitimate business." If you visit one of their (many) websites you may end up with the xupiter software installing behind the scenes, and the only way you know it is there is because of all of a sudden you end up visiting websites you had no intention of visiting! Xupiter is not the only web browser "hijacker" out there, but it IS the most prolific... (www.xupiter.com) The website claims that you have the choice to install their software - and this is via a security certificate you have to accept before the software auto installs on your PC.
However, this is not the case with me and many other users..... I have been infected and I have NEVER accepted their software on my machines! There are many "Security Experts" that claim that this can not happen - however even Microsoft have admitted that Xupiter has caused them many problems with XP... To uninstall xupiter safely you could try and use the "uninstall xupiter" method offered by xupiter themselves - but it does NOT work... You could try to manually remove it but this is NOT advisable either. The BEST method I have found, in supporting Windows XP user's, is a FREE piece of software called "Spybot - Search and Destroy". It can detect all the xupiter elements in the registry and elsewhere, then uninstall xupiter completely.
I personally supported over 250 users wanting to uninstall xupiter software off their PC's and this is now the ONLY method I use... It also has the advantage of detecting and removing MANY other spy ware, ad ware, dialler programs etc. To get the program visit: http://www.updatexp.com/free.html Passionate about Windows XP?
