Faster Network Browsing
In Windows XP.
There is a strange setting lurking in the registry...
Whenever you access a folder on a computer - over a network, Windows XP
will check the "Scheduled Tasks" folder on the remote PC for no apparent
reason!
This can greatly reduce the browsing speed when using a Microsoft network. If
this is your experience then you can turn it off...
Yes you guessed it - with a registry Tweak!
Here it is:
Step 1)
Open the registry editor and Navigate to:
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace
Step 2)
Now locate the sub key called:
{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}
Now right-click this sub key and select Delete.
Step 3)
Close the registry editor.
You will need to reboot for the Tweak to take effect.
And that is it!
IMPORTANT:
This procedure contains information about modifying the
registry. Before you modify the registry, make sure to back it up and
