Windows XP file views
Change The File View in Windows XP

Windows XP allows you, the user, various options for viewing the
files in any folder.
It is almost as if Windows XP is trying to be all things to all
people.
There are times when I would like a list of files and other times
just a small thumbnail is required...
To achieve the look you want you can use the "Views" Icon on the
main folder toolbar. When it is clicked you are given a list of 5
options as in the following screenshot:

The following screenshot shows my files being displayed using the "Tiles" option:

By experimenting with the 5 different display options available, you will become familiar with which option you require for the task you are working on at any given time.
The other way to access to access the 5 options is from the Menu Toolbar as in the screenshot below:

A really nice aspect of folders under Windows XP is that the
operating system will actually remember the option you last choose
for that particular folder. So every folder can be set to view all
your files the way you need to.
