Explorer 6 stores all the web pages and
images that you view whilst online...
If you wish to clear the Temporary Internet Folder from all these
HTML, JPG, GIF, TXT etc.. files then you have 2 main options
available to you.
You can either manually remove the files when you remember to, or
you can also set an option so that it cleans out the files on
closing Internet Explorer. (There are also 3rd party software
products that will do the job...)
How To Tell
Internet Explorer To Clean Out The Temporary Internet Folder On
Closing:
You can configure Internet Explorer to remove all the files it keeps
a copy of whilst you are surfing the Internet by following these
simple instructions:
1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu,
click Internet Options.
2. Click the Advanced tab. (see Fig 1.1)
3. Under Security, locate
Empty Temporary Internet Files.
4. Select the check box for the
Empty Temporary Internet Files.
5. Click the
Apply button.
...and that's it.

How
To Manually Clean Out The Temporary Internet Folder On An Adhoc
Basis:
Internet Explorer allows you to manually remove files stored in its
temporary internet folder, follow these instructions to perform this
task manually:
1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer,
click Internet Options.
2. Click the General tab. (see Fig 1.2)
3. Under Temporary Internet Files , click Delete
Files.
4. In the new
window that appears click OK.
...the folder will
now be cleaned, please note that this can take a few moments to
complete.
NB - You can
also remove the "Cookies" stored in the Temporary Internet Folder
but some of them may be ones you wish to keep so I will cover this
in another article.
