Microsoft has issued warnings about a serious
flaw in Microsoft Outlook that could allow an attacker to execute
code remotely on a vulnerable computer
Read this article for more information on this
security update.
What Is KB925938 All
About..?
This update resolves several newly discovered, privately reported
vulnerabilities.
When using vulnerable versions of Office
Outlook, if a user is logged on with administrative user rights, an
attacker who successfully exploited these vulnerabilities could take
complete control of the system. An attacker could then install
programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with
full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer
user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who
operate with administrative user rights.
Microsoft recommend that customers apply the
update immediately.
What Software Is
Affected:
• Microsoft Office Outlook 2000 Service Pack 3 - Critical
• Microsoft Office Outlook XP/2002 Service Pack 3 - Important
• Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Service Pack 2 - Important
Non-Affected Software:
• Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
