Issue: The February 2006 - PART ONE -  Windows XP Newsletter!

Dear Friend,

...here is Part One of the Windows XP Newsletter for February 2006.

Why the change from a single monthly newsletter?

...it seems many subscribers to this newsletter would like
to receive fewer articles per issue - BUT more issues a month!

If you feel that "fewer - but more often..." is a good idea
then let me know at:

http://www.updatexp.com/contact.html

Enjoy this issue :-)

1) DUAL TIME ZONES IN OUTLOOK.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft Outlook 2003 can display two different
time zones in its Calendar view.

Having Microsoft Outlook 2003 display the two
time zones you use most frequently use can be
invaluable when scheduling appointments, trips
or conference calls!

Read about it here:

-----------------------------------------------------------

2) THE MICROSOFT TIME ZONE UTILITY.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The Microsoft Time Zone utility installs as a small tray
icon that allows you to specify as many as five cities
to watch the time on while you are working on your
computer.

In order to schedule meetings and trip the Microsoft
Time Zone application also lets you compare times
at different places in the world without changing
your system time.

Read about it here:

http://www.updatexp.com/microsoft-time-zone.html

-----------------------------------------------------------

3) MOST FREQUENTLY USED (MFU) PROGRAMS LIST.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The Most Frequently Used (MFU) list is the list of
most frequently used programs that appears below
the Pinned list on the Start menu.

This list keeps track of how often programs are
used and displays them in order of most used (top)
to least used (bottom).

Find out more here:

-----------------------------------------------------------

4) MY RECENT DOCUMENTS LIST.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The My Recent Documents folder on the Windows
XP Start menu displays a list of files and documents
that you most recently used.

This article describes how to display, use, and
clear the My Recent Documents folder.

-----------------------------------------------------------

5) DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY ARTICLE.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever wondered what DLLs are, what they do and
why do you need them?

Here is a brief users' guide to dynamic link libraries.

If you know what they are then you know that you need
to secure them like any other bit of data resident on
your PC.
