YouTube is a video sharing
website where users can upload, view and share video clips. YouTube
was created in mid February 2005 by three former PayPal employees.
The San Bruno-based service uses Adobe Flash
technology to display a wide variety of video content, including
movie clips, TV clips and music videos, as well as amateur content
such as videoblogging and short original videos. |
In October 2006, Google Inc. announced that it
had reached a deal to acquire the company for US$1.65 billion in
Google stock. The deal closed on November 13, 2006.
With so many varied videos you may come across a
few that you wish to download and keep on your PC.
Now YouTube does NOT offer this facility
BUT there are plenty of FREE applications that you can use to
achieve this task.
One popular one is from software company DVD
VideoSoft.
This application allows you to download video
from YouTube straight to your computer hard drive with one mouse
click. Video from YouTube will be saved as .AVI file.
You'll be able to play it with any popular video
player on your computer such as Windows Media Player.
On testing this application it was free from spyware or adware.
