This service is used when creating a folder on one computer and then sharing that folder as a shortcut “link” on other computers on the same network. If you move the original folder then this service should inform the other computers that link to it on the network. ONLY valid if your computer hard drives are formatted using NTFS and not FAT32, in which case this service can be set to Disabled and save around 4Mb of RAM memory.

The average home user is not going to use this service.
