Introduction AND an APOLOGY

Let me start this email by apologising for NOT emailing YOU a newsletter over 
the last 3 months...

As you may be aware I have been working full time as an IT Manager in the UK
and run this Windows XP website in my spare time. Sadly, due to recurring family 
illness this spare time has been so little in the last 3 months that I have not had 
the opportunity to email you a newsletter.... and for that I apologise!

(THANK YOU to ALL of you who emailed to find out why I had not sent out a 
newsletter for a while....)

Some GOOD news is that I have resigned as an IT Manager!!!

Good News?

Well yes...

For YOU and ME!

From the 1st of September I will be working FULL TIME on my various websites 
INCLUDING:

Crazy?

Probably..... BUT over the coming months I shall be writing plenty of articles and
newsletters so hopefully this will make up for the vacuum of the last 3 months?

Not just ANY articles though....

Many of these articles will feature "Video Tutorials" It will be just like 
having your own IT Professional on your desktop!

And there is PLENTY to cover too...

1. Windows XP Service Pack 2 is Here!

Well it has finally arrived! Windows XP Service Pack 2 is here....

Firstly it is available for IT Professionals via the MSDN Subscription website 
AND at the Microsoft Download Center.

The URL is:

BUT please remember this is NOT intended for Home Users!

For YOU there are a few options....

Over the "coming week(s)" Microsoft will be releasing XP SP2 via:

Automatic Updates:

Those of you who have this turned ON you will find you receive it automatically.

Windows Update Service:

Those of you who like to manually update your PC will find it appearing
at the Windows Update Website.

FREE CD's:

In some counties Microsoft are issuing FREE CD's with the update on.

Magazine Cover CD's:

Microsoft are allowing some magazines to carry the update on their
cover CD.

NB - If you installed the early "Release Candidates" of XP SP2 then I 
suggest you UNINSTALL it now!
