Find A Resolution To Your 800700D Error

In this article on the 800700D windows media player error message I detail the problem and hopefully present you with a resolution...

What Is The 800700D Error?

This windows media player error 800700D is not a very common message.

This article gives a brief outline of the issue.

When trying to open a video or audio file from:

The windows media player file menu or from a previous URL used to replay content

or

...from a URL posted on a website

The actual error message should read:

"800700D: Please verify path and filename are correct and try again".

How To Resolve The 800700D Error?

Since this error message is generated when windows media player can not find the media file location you will need to verify this is the cause of your problem.

For instance if you are trying to play from a file on your computer, check that the file has not been moved or deleted.

If the file is a link on a website then check with the webmaster to see if the link is still valid.

Can anything else cause this error 800700D ?

Not usually but I have seen this error when the codec required for playing the media file is not installed or the media file is not supported by Windows Media Player.
